Our Moment
July 30, 2025

On the surface, what we’re going through appears to be a technological revolution. But look closer; it may actually mark the beginning of a quiet awakening—a chance to rediscover what it truly means to be human.

The fundamental questions of our existence have long remained just out of reach: What sets us apart from other living beings? Why are we here? What are we really capable of becoming? Ironically, the more modern the times, the more distracted we become and the more distant these questions seem.

Forces like individualism and materialism, although not inherently negative, often have unintended consequences. They can subtly steer us from the answers we seek. As our societies polarize across multiple dimensions and the pace of life accelerates, something essential feels increasingly absent.

Now enters the defining force of our era—the technological revolution, most notably, the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence. We’ve created a digital kin we don’t yet know how to relate to. It’s a presence like no other. Familiar, yet foreign. It holds no memory of love or loss, yet it recalls everything we’ve ever shared. Not alive, but not entirely lifeless either.

Its practical consequences on everyday life are deeply unsettling—job displacement, erosion of privacy, loss of control, and more. As daunting as these challenges are, we’ll find ways to respond—not by solving every problem at once, but by learning, adapting, and evolving over time.

What’s harder to navigate is how this revolution rattles our inner world. It can diminish our sense of agency, dull our originality, or even erode the authenticity of human connection. Yet that’s only one side of the story. The very capabilities that seem to threaten us can also open new and once-unimaginable pathways for our growth, awakening capacities we never knew we had.

The horizon splits, and the moment asks us which path to take. One leads to a diminished human experience where we settle into using less and less of what makes us whole. The other leads to a fuller one, where we continually expand our physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual capacities, and experience a growing sense of wholeness—both within ourselves and with the greater systems we inhabit. This fuller human experience is more than an abstract ideal. It’s the pathway to effectiveness in our professional lives and fulfillment in our relationships.

The power of the second path lies in the possibility it holds. It is an invitation to walk more consciously and more fully into who we can become. If we welcome our digital kin into this journey, it can help us move closer to what truly matters.

This moment—unlike any before—asks us not just to cope with external change but to thrive by turning inward with honesty. To meet the digital with the human. To look not only at what we can build, but at who we can become.

Soulgery begins here, with the belief that the greatest breakthroughs in this age of machines will not come from what we automate, but from how deeply we come to understand ourselves. It invites us to embrace this moment as a calling—a chance to become more fully human than ever before. After all, the real revolution isn’t in the machines we create, but in the consciousness we choose to cultivate.
